Rapid Automated Nucleic Acid Extraction System
The NC-15 uses an innovative magnetic bead extraction method to provide rapid walkaway RNA extraction. It is able to transform a category B sensitivity assay to category A, with a simple two-step deskilled process. The run time is 29 minutes for 16 or 32 samples, including the on-board heated lysis step.
The system, which works with both wet or dry samples, is currently being used across the country with the Optigene LAMP assay as part of the government's mobile testing programme. It has also been validated by both Preston Royal Infirmary and by Harrogate NHS Foundation Trust. Harrogate's study showed 100% agreement with the labs standard closed amplification system.
